July 22nd, 2024I’m open to considering a lot of weird ideas around this situation, but as someone with a lifetime of firearms experience, I’m sure of one thing: If Trump was shot through the ear, he was meant to die and was within millimeters of death.
The main takeaway here is that we are being deluged with nonsense. This happens with all deep political events. We need to be aware that roomfulls of people are working full time to cause what amounts to brain damage in anyone trying to get closer to the reality of what happened.

They don’t say how high above those bullets are flying, but it’s probably at least a few meters from the mic. Also, who knows what sort of gain may have been applied in that video.
But how many dB is that? How loud would that be at a distance of piercing Trump’s ear?
LOUD! Deafening.
Someone should shoot a standard 55 grain 5.56mm bullet past a sound meter placed 130 meters downrange so that it passes within a few inches of a sound meter, and let us know how loud that is. Of course, it would be even louder if it pierced Trump’s ear as it would be only about an inch away from his ear canal.
It seems like such an obvious and simple experiment to do.
I don’t trust this guy, but he has interesting videos. This one has sound and graphs. He concludes there were at least 2 or maybe 3 shooters. Maybe the graphs are in decibels?

Remember the pic of a bullet whizzing past T’s head? Is it usual for somebody to bring a camera capable of photographing a speeding bullet to a political rally? And to be in just the right place at the just right time with just the right camera settings to get that pic?
Photographing a bullet mid flight doesn’t require anything special, in terms of the camera. What is unusual is the luck involved here. Photographing bullets is normally done with some sort of trigger that automates shutter release.
I’d say that the photographer who captured that image, Doug Mills, was roughly as lucky as Trump, in that moment.
Bonus factoid: Doug Mills also photographed President Bush being notified of the 9/11 attacks.

@Snowman – what don’t you trust about him? Sincerely curious. I’ve been following Chris since the 90s when he was posting in (at least one IIRC) peak oil groups. It’s possible I’m wrong in my judgement, but he’s impressed me with intelligence, truth, and sincerity.

I’ve seen video of the shooting where the sequence is he flinches, his right hand goes to his ear (which is away from the camera, out of sight), his right hand appears again WITHOUT blood, he ducks down for a moment, then re-emerges with bloody hand and ear. But you’re right, we are deluged with both true and false information. That could have been a doctored video.
