Update: The Canadian Government Will Not Use Troops Against Truckers

Ottawa’s chief of police suggested Wednesday that the Canadian Armed Forces might have to be called in to handle the lingering protesters in the Canadian capital.

“This is a national issue, not an Ottawa issue,” Ottawa police Chief Peter Sloly said in a briefing to city councilors. “I am increasingly concerned there is no policing solution to this.”

Word in the street is that they the cops called the towing companies to move the trucks and they all refused to help. Similar protests are planned all over Canada. Notably Quebec City et Toronto. This is spreading.

I wonder if they determined that the military wouldn’t do it???

It is hard to know what is happening at the top echelon of the Canadian military. Either way, the convoy protest have been so peaceful that the Prime minister and the media had to resort to name calling to try to make them look bad. A kindergarten move fit for our prime minister. In this context, it is very difficult to justify sending the military after them.
