    hey Kevin,

    i assumed you knew about Yoshi-san. i think i might have mentioned him in comments once or twice in the past. he’s a really nice guy, whom i’ve met a couple of times. i was lucky enough to be invited to his annual arts festival/concert at his place about five or six years ago. i went along maybe one more time (memory is a bit dodgy). i know Kaiwaka is a long way from your place, but if you haven’t been in there, i’d totally recommend dropping in. he would almost certainly be interested in chatting and hearing about what your family is doing up north.

    I started mentioning this to Becky and she said, “That sounds like Yoshi.” She knew all about him through Koanga Institute.
