U.S. Military Begins Planning for Avian Flu Pandemic

May 18th, 2007

I don’t offer much advice on here, but I will now, as it appears that time is running out: Do not allow yourself to be taken alive.

I know. Even now, a few of you still don’t get it. You’re thinking, “It’s not going to come to that,” and maybe there’s more time for politics and debate and protests. You need to manage your 401k and take the kids to dance class and get the oil changed in the minivan…

When that soldier stands before you with that needle, you better be damn clear about what needs to happen next.

The Defense Department’s “Implementation Plan for Pandemic Influenza,” which was posted Wednesday on a Pentagon website, lays out guidelines and planning assumptions for US military services and combatant commands.

Possible scenarios include US troops being called in to put down riots, guard pharmaceutical plants and shipments, and help restrict the movement of people inside the country and across its borders.

The plan envisions fast moving, catastrophic waves of disease that would overwhelm health facilities and cripple the ability of state and local authorities to provide even basic commodities or services.

“A pandemic in the United States could result in 20-35 percent of the population becoming ill, three percent being hospitalized, and a fatality rate of one percent,” the document said in a section on “planning assumptions.”

A human-to-human outbreak of avian flu was most likely to occur outside the United States and may not be contained effectively, it said.

“A pandemic outbreak will last between 6-12 weeks and multiple pandemic waves will follow,” it said.

If a pandemic influenza starts outside the United States, it will enter the US at multiple locations and spread quickly to other parts of the country, according to the report.

A vaccine for the specific strain of flu would not be available for distribution for a minimum of six to nine months after a human-to-human outbreak had been clinically confirmed, it said.

Transportation within states or internationally will be restricted to contain the spread of the virus, and communities may voluntarily close schools and limit public gatherings.

“Quarantine and other movement restrictions, especially if the restrictions are involuntary, will have minimal effect on the spread of the disease due to a very short incubation period and the ability of asymptomatic individuals to shed the virus,” the document said.

“Military and civilian medical treatment facilities will be overwhelmed,” it said.

It said the military will be called on to evacuate non-infected people from areas abroad that are having problems, and to help allies.

But the guidance said the US military’s top priority would be to preserve the operational effectiveness of the Defense Department and its forces around the world.

Additionally, the Defense Department will develop a plan to ensure the continuity of operations of the US government and be prepared to support civilian authorities with medical supplies, airlift and security forces.

A key military role will be to distribute medical supplies and medications and provide security for the production and shipment of vaccines on orders of the president.

“When directed by the president, DoD will provide support to civil authorities in the event of a civil disturbance,” the document said. “DoD will augment civilian law enforcement efforts to restore and maintain order in accordance with existing statutes.”

The military also may assist civil authorities in “isolating and/or quarantining groups of people in order to minimize the spread of disease during an influenza pandemic,” it said.

I’ve been wondering for quite some time when they were going to forcibly start injecting people for what is in effect a non-issue. My “X-Files” sensors popped up when I thought that one way to elliminate people, and thus prepare the world for themselves, would be to “mark” individuals. If there were a man made plague waiting to take out most of the world then it may in fact attack those who have been “inoculated”. The fact is they’ve just been inoculated from life!

The whole thing is absurd from top to bottom. But since people pretty much bought the one about the diabolical super terrorist, commanding attacks on the Homeland from the caves of Afghanistan, why not? Why the F not?

Just to add my two cents worth on fears about a pandemic…

I lived in the central Philippines from 2004-2006 as a vol with a large aide agency. We were constantly getting alerts about the coming asian bird flu pandemic, what to do, where to go. I was issued Tamiflu as a precautionary measure.

The reason being: we were on the front line. There are literally millions of chickens all over the country. There is massive legal and illegal trade with China, with virtually no customs inspection.

But I was never worried. You know why? Because I was already sick with worse stuff that people already knew about, or nobody has discovered yet.

Living in a squatter settlement as I did, I was constantly sick with everything a third-world tropical country had to offer. I drank after people, ate the same food, was intimate with women. And guess what? I got Dengue fever, got more parasites than I can count, water born illnesses, etc.

I got sick…and then I got better. Viruses are not magical, they follow the laws of chemistry and physics like everything else. Theres a reason why the human race is still around (our immune system), and the bird flu is just one more super virus we’ll out last.

Kevin, its absolutely absurd. You’re right. And just why hasn’t Mr. OBL been charged? I read recently that the FBI didn’t even have hard evidence that he was connected! WTF!? Over! Whatever does occur, whatever that might be, it’ll be used to justify moving a complacent and irrational populace into accepting further draconian and dictatorial diktats. All for the sake of “security”? What a sad situation.

“Isolating and/or quarantining groups of people in order to minimize the spread of disease during an influenza pandemic […]”

Right. More like carting those who refuse forced injections or pharma away to the scenic concentration camps KBR is building.

New Zealand authorities already carried out bird flu pandemic exercises last weekend:

“NZ’s border control tested in pandemic exercise”

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/4056120a10.html

This is significant as the NZ Ministry of Health is famously inert and brain dead. Such an exercise was not conceived without some outside input. Someone told them to get ready.

Of note, nearly 1000 Americans (and countless birds) have died from the West Nile Virus and nobody cares about that, it is off the media radar. No nation has lost even 100 people to H5N1 yet the seeds are being sown for mass hysteria.

Of note, all of these exercises are about controlling people, not migratory birds. This is for an illness than does not spread from person to person at all.

Whether it will be an actual epidemic, or a mass media fraud, the epidemic lockdown is coming.

  8. Forcibly injecting? Why do that when people voluntarily offer up their children for innoculations?

  9. Jeff says:

If an epidemic does happen someday, you’ll be quite happy that the military have a strategic plan for it.

You guys are seeing conspiracy everywhere, and one day you’ll probably be right. Just like those crazy fortune tellers that are right about one time in their entire lifetime.

    Wolf, wolf, wolf!

I wouldn’t be surprised if they put the tainted meds in the “regular” flu shot fist, then re-release it as a bird-flu protection variant, to get even more people to take it…Make it voluntary first, then do it forcibly, that way you maximize the people who would’nt do it under duress…

There was a vivid foreshadowing of a rapidly-spread virus, and how the US government would react to it in the 1995 movie “Outbreak” with Dustin Hoffman and Morgan Freeman. I strongly recommend renting the movie if you haven’t seen it, as I feel it was created to lay the groundwork for martial law and strict quarantines for local communities all over the country. I fully expect some aspect of the movie to be implemented soon, and unlike in the movie there won’t be any happy Hollywood ending.
