DAR.fm

June 22nd, 2011

DAR.fm is a free, web-based service that allows you to record radio shows and play them back whenever you like. The files may also be downloaded as mp3.

I used to listen to the radio quite a bit when I lived in the U.S., but not so much in New Zealand. (National Radio is the only option where we are.) I’ve been using DAR.fm for a few weeks and it works well.

Is there some trick to downloading a recording as an mp3? It’s not obvious from their UI.

You can right-click the parts and download them as mp3s here:

I use their LockerSync app to do it automatically.

It’s all pretty clumsy and fails frequently, but the price is right…
