Pay no attention to that man behind the casting call…!!
:/
I suppose what we’re intended to take away from this is:
“Well, at least they’re *telling* us that it’s all a big smoke & mirrors farce. Obama is sooo much more honest and trustworthy than those sneaky Bushies were. Aren’t we the lucky ones??”
Blue pills on the house…
Wait…what’s surprising about this? We know that all of Bush’s town hall meetings were staged with hand picked audience members. Why would Obama be any better? And what about Clinton’s appearance on MTV in ’92? I’m sure they did something similar for that. Politics is stagecraft.
Yeah, we’re just not used to them coming right out and saying “Casting call for the President’s next reality tv special!!!”
They haven’t yet been quite blatant enough to state the equation that
(dog+pony)*(smoke+mirrors)= Our Glorious Democracy
If you don’t cast the audience the meeting will be crashed by activists. Why attempt any semblance of an intelligent exchange of ideas if Westboro Baptist Church is going to show up?
