Trump and Greenland: Vast Mineral Deposits, Energy Transformation, EV Revolution, Musk, Other Prominent Big Tech Figures

People should consider that arguably the main interest in Greenland (and also likely Canada as well) from the Trump camp and Musk is related to vast mineral deposits, particularly those necessary for the “energy transformation” and “EV revolution” that is directly tied to the business interests of Musk as well as other prominent Big Tech figures.
For example, aside from Musk, Jeff Bezos, who recently gave very very generously to Trump’s inauguration fund, backs a firm called KoBold Metals along with Bill Gates, Reid Hoffman (who both backed Kamala) and Marc Andressen (currently advising Trump on tech policy) that is drilling in Greenland for EV related minerals. Northern Canada also possesses significant deposits of minerals essential to EV production.
Is it a step forward for civilization when one country conquers and seizes another through economic manipulation instead of physical warfare?
Trump’s nationalism is not a principle that every country should hold but just another power tool ‘for me but not for thee’.
It could be the forcing of North America into a union like the EU. Is Greenland a real target, or a distraction?
Or is the whole thing a distraction or, if it totally fails, an excuse to more aggressively drill and mine all over the US and its waters?
The opposite of ending the imperial projects. I tend to skip the right/wrong and figure this is chaff, or it’s somehow another potential future outcome.
