November 28th, 2024Via: ABC7:
A man identified by neighbors as a member of the wealthy Rothschild family died following a fire at a two-story hillside home in the Hollywood Hills Wednesday.
Crews responded to the 8500 block of Lookout Mountain Avenue around 4:40 p.m. A total of 45 firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 33 minutes, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters found a man dead inside the home. Officials have not released the man’s name, but neighbors identified him as Will Rothschild of the powerful banking family.

“Lord Rothschild’s family has an estimated fortune of around £825 million”
825 million—oh sure, that seems about right.
20 years ago articles like this came out about cozy relationships between the looting oligarchs of 90’s Russia and big finance:

Did you hear much of this in school?:

We all need a better understanding of Russia.
@NH
Thank you for linking the War on Civilisation article.
The phrase ‘Quantity must always govern quality’, from the section on RAND Corporation, reminds me of a line from Francis Schaeffer’s Escape from Reason:
‘The lower storey, the scientific and rationalistic thought, has eaten up the upper storey of philosophy and theology.’
The enthronement of material and empirical knowledge (lower storey) inevitably consumes transcendent and moral understanding (upper storey). Using the house metaphor again, it could also be seen as boarding up access to the upper floor. I see a parallel with the Genesis story, where the choice to eat from the tree of knowledge results in the loss of access to the tree of life, and paradise lost.
Thank you both.
