I can’t help but wonder if GT might be one of the last outposts of ancient Atlantean civilization prior to the destruction of Atlantis-proper. The revelation that Atlantis or something like it was real would certainly be an apple-cart overturning that would motivate control-freak oligarchs to want to cover it up!
