I wish I had started back in 2000 to keep a spreadsheet of each crisis as it occurred: date, location, subtype etc. for storms, fires, demolitions, riots, mass murders, random attacks on individuals, pandemics, boats-into-bridges, etc. I’d like to see the pattern of complementariness that would emerge, each crisis building on the one before it in its own category plus enhancing the overall public sense of helplessness as doom sweeps down upon us (obviously not randomly) via all categories.
The UFO reportage is a category the fewest people seem to worry about, whereas the illegal alien invasion is the one people react to most.
It would be interesting, if Trump becomes pres, to track whether and how any of the patterns change. I’m betting that there would be small or less significant variations while the overall direction and intensity increases.
For example, if Trump builds his wall, we still have those 11 million aliens already here. How many could be deported in his 4-year term, especially when the numbers of police and other defense forces have been so diminished? Is he calling for a vast build-up of those forces and changes to laws so they can actually do their jobs?
He’ll have to be a dictator-by-executive-order to get much of anything done. But with Congress, fed agencies, and many governors and mayors resisting, he’s going to have to be a miracle worker as well.
