When I first heard that party balloons were being banned all over the US because they supposedly result in too much pollution, I thought that was an odd reason, given how few balloons we use relative to how much styrofoam and other kinds of plastic products we have. But now — could it be so the military can do whatever they like with their own balloons without interference from others?
