It is stunning to think how many people participate in the world-wide, systematic killing of everything that lives and the destruction of everything man-made, (except for their own families and their possessions, of course). We repeat the leaders’ names over and over, but they have assistants, sycophants, enforcers, servants. All these people have a clue but go along anyway. Half the world has reverted to barbarianism, however technologically sophisticated, and is erasing the other half from existence.
I don’t think the people at the top will ever have a change of heart because they are power-mad. Maybe somewhere not too far down the chain of command, people who took those jobs in order to do good will see the light and get together to reverse the evils done by the madmen. Maybe the US president, the secretary of defense, and the joint chiefs of staff are lost souls. But then, maybe the field officers of the army, junior officers of the navy and coast guard, the mid-level sergeants of the marines, and police chiefs and sheriffs all over the country are waking up and will get together to start setting things to right. It is a good sign that so many IDF reservists refused to be called up for Netanyahu’s genocidal war and that so many Americans are refusing to join the armed forces. But the top of the middle ranks, those who have seen up close a sizeable piece of the picture and can deduce the rest — they are the leaders of our future, if we are to have a future of personal freedom, civility, and peaceful co-existence.
