European Union Mandates Easily Replaceable Batteries for Mobile Devices

I recently went through this again with a portable bluetooth speaker. The battery was worn out and the speaker was not user serviceable. I managed to pull it apart. It had definitely been engineered to make replacing the battery difficult.

Imagine having that job!

Your job is to come up with ways to prevent the purchaser of a product from being able to extend the life of the product.

Anyway, I replaced the battery and the speaker worked fine again.
