As bad as this is in its potential for quick escalation, The previous illegal use of a poisonous weapon (depleted uranium) in the first Iraq war, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, the second Iraq war, Libya, Syria etc. is an Achilles’ heel for the warmongers. Can broader awareness of this issue be raised quick enough to hinder this massive provocation?

I remember this article from 20 years ago–the main issue with DU projectiles is that they partially burn/vaporize as they hit and go through a hard target. The resulting fine dust (sub-micron) is not only a toxic heavy metal, but an Alpha emitter, which when ingested or inhaled becomes an extremely dangerous substance:
