Since invading Afghanistan in 2001, the United States has spent $2.313 trillion on the war, which includes operations in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. Note that this total does not include funds that the United States government is obligated to spend on lifetime care for American veterans of this war, nor does it include future interest payments on money borrowed to fund the war.

While it’s important to point out the spending, what always seems to be missing from articles and studies like these are the other end of the monetary transactions: if all that money is being spent, then someone must be on the receiving end of that spending. So who received that $2.3 trillion? Who are they, with whom (governments, agencies, individual) are they connected? Etc. I think the disclosure of exactly who benefited from these wars would help us sheeple see much more clearly that this is a (very old) game that benefits very bad people.
