I was living in Latvia for 2 years and during that time, if anything happened to my daughter’s glasses I just brought the broken items to the “master” at the opticians and it would be fixed – for free.
Back in the UK now, I recently tried the same trick at two different shops. “We have to see the child, her eyes have to be re-tested, etc.” A total wall of needless corporate bureaucracy just to put a screw in a frame.
Needless to say I refused and took the do-it-yourself route and learned – in the process – how to fix spectacle frames.
