Paul Krugman on CNN: “If We Discovered That Space Aliens Were Planning to Attack… This Slump Would Be Over in 18 Months”
August 15th, 2011The Al Qaeda swindle isn’t working, so why not double down and shoot for the stars?
Via: CNN Clip on YouTube:
Paul Krugman wants to create a Keynesian-infused Space Alien Economic Bubble to revive the depressed one we have right now.
Q: So what would happen if we “discovered” that space aliens were coming peacefully to show us how to how to coexist in sync with the natural environment while simultaneously broadening our level of consciousness to the point that we saw past the myriad artificial boundaries that we place between ourselves and others and recognized that we truly are all one?
A: There would be a massive defensive build up to counter the alien threat, and we would be out of this economic mess in 18 months! …sigh…
Krugman just looks like such a weasel!!
The Project Blue Beam BS is out in full effect:
* Discovery Channel’s ‘Curiosity’ with the Alien Attack ep aired last night in the US. (tie in with Apollo 18)
* Michio Kaku laying it on REALLY thick as above but also in his books & on the road speaking.
* A dearth of ‘Cowboys n Aliens’, ‘Apollo 18’
I get the feeling that “scientists” like @michiokaku are “comedians of the last resort” when the elite’s jokes don’t go over so well.

Every time I see that another alien invasion movie has come out or resurfacing of Roswell stories I think of Werner Von Braun and Carol Rosin.

I’ve also noticed that the ticket to success in the media is often tied to presenting stories about space, terrorists, aliens or the holocaust. Without going too far off topic I just have to say that presenting a certain story about aliens is very important to TPTB from Roswell to Cowboys and Aliens to whatever Krugman has in mind.
While I’ve read his stuff before this is the first time I’ve watched him on screen. He looked downright horrified at the mention of productive work rather than digging ditches. That was most telling.
well, I think Krugman gets it. If one were to ask why the US was so dominant after WW2, I would list a) highest rate of military-industrial complex spending provided a cash injection stimulus effect to middle class, plus had spinoff technology that industry could patent, b) culture of entrepreneurialism and motivated immigrants in US, c) wealth wiped out during depression + tax structure caused businesses and prices to be directed towards middle class demands.
It depends on what you value. If you value a stable economy with few booms and busts, and environmental sustainability, a gold standard and expensive credit tends to impede venture capital speculation etc.
All through history, there has been no shortage of people smart enough to do science, but rather money to fund them. Right now, I could show you job boards with grads in chemistry, biotechnology postdoctorates, theoretical physics, math and so forth all bitterly complaining about lack of jobs. Computer specialists only get hired if they have skill at the hottest thing for the past few years. Companies can’t afford R&D. But having the gov’t hire people at the Nat’l Inst. Health or for military research is both stimulus by creating those jobs, plus it is one of the only mechanisms for industry to get new discoveries. It’s just too bad if another country quickly copies the patent, or if a new device requires a mineral that can only be mined in the Congo.
