The Most Disgusting School Lunches

October 20th, 2010

Via: Holy Taco:

A Harrisonburg, VA school system thought it was a good idea to put photos of their school lunches on their website. But what they didn’t realize is that the food they were taking pictures of was a collection of the most unappetizing piles of garbage you wouldn’t feed to a dying hamster.

Disgusting! But it figures, considering the town. I should know, I was born and raised there…. and fled in the 70s. But it appears the people who run the school system are just as ignorant as ever. Note to kids in H’burg — you’ll survive, once you escape.

yes, these pics were extremely bad! One can understand now where all that money and creativity goes in phood marketing, in order to make phood NOT look like this….the ‘tacos’ were especially gross; like someone took a dump between the shells, perfectly extruded turds, but turds, nonetheless….

I think this subject is a little over hyped. I mean come-on guys of course it doesn’t look good, it’s institutional food, not restaurant food. Just because it doesn’t look pretty, doesn’t necessarily mean it is not nutritious; conversely, if it looks good and taste good doesn’t always mean its good for you either. If it’s any consolation it doesn’t look any different than the crap they served in my school 40 years ago.

I feel heartily sorry for all the likewise pictured food I’ve ingested over my lifetime. Lately, in my old age I’ve determined that I’m getting ultra sensitive to anything “cooked up” for the masses.
I get sores in my nose when I am away from home and eat food cooked by “others.” I also get this reaction now if I even eat store baked bread. I think its all the chemicals, the –ates. Just look at the labels. Its sickening and disheartening. Looking forward to the next few months where I can bake my own bread.
I have also recently concluded that others are as sensitive as I am, and am beginning to think, well at least as my family members are concerned, that the older we get, the more sensitive we become to the food we eat.
Developing a theory about hot flashes here. Is it the food we eat that creates discomfort? I am thinking so.
These pictures aren’t just Harrisonburg. I’ve been coast to coast for work. What a slop of shit we’re served up in the hotels and restaurants that’s called food. How about a breakfast of powdered eggs? That is the most disgusting thing on the planet my palate tells me.
WAY too BAD kids are served this shit up and this is what they will learn to be FOOD. Pitiful.
    Painful. Immoral.

Reminds me of the food in Alien. And the food in Aliens. In fact, why bother trying to present it at all – why not just blend it all up and drink it? Mmm-mmm.
