Secret Power by Nicky Hager Available as Free eBook

May 26th, 2009

Nicky Hager’s Secret Power should be on every Cryptogon reader’s list. Doubly so if you’re a Kiwi Cryptogon reader.

Secret Power gives us a heretofore unprecedented look at how the UKUSA surveillance machine is really run. This was published in 1996, and when I read it back then I couldn’t believe what I was holding in my hands.

The book has been notoriously difficult to find for sale, but good university libraries will have it—which is how I managed to read it. This book is, quite literally, one of the gems that should be in your personal collection.

Thanks to Nicky Hager for making this available to everyone!

His website looks like a goldmine too; I’ll be adding it to my favorites list.

yes, Nicky Hager deserves our support.
he is either demonised or ignored by NZ’s corporate/state-owned media.

good to see his important book available again. and there’s a Japanese translation! i’ll have to check out the translator, maybe he’s a cryptogon reader 😉

    meanwhile…
earlier this week Hager wrote a blog post for a NZ site. it’s really about NZ internal political machinations, but it is very instructive on how the media play the game in NZ. here’s the link:
