Tony Blair Calls for Media Regulation to Contain Pernicious Conspiracy Theories

June 13th, 2007

Ahhh, poor Tony needs Soviet style censors to hide his grave and despicable crimes.

Tony Blair hinted today at new restrictions on internet journalism, saying online news coverage had become “more pernicious and less balanced” than traditional political reporting.

In a farewell lecture on public life, he said that much of the British media behaved like a “feral beast, just tearing people and reputations to bits”.

But he had particularly harsh words for non-traditional media outlets, particularly the internet.

“It used to be thought – and I include myself in this – that help was on the horizon,” he said.

“New forms of communication would provide new outlets to by-pass the increasingly shrill tenor of the traditional media.

“In fact, the new forms can be even more pernicious, less balanced, more intent on the latest conspiracy theory multiplied by five.”

The emergence of internet-based news and 24-hour television news channels meant reports were “driven by impact”. He said that there was a need for the distinction between news and comment to be reasserted.

With newspapers increasingly moving online, he said the regulatory systems for papers and TV needed to be revised.

What Tony really means to say though is you will believe what your dodgy dodging Ministers say and you will obey them without questioning the gravy train.

Caught in flagrante delicto as no spinner of tales but merely an empty vessel to echo HMV, the dumb schmuck would even venture to curtail alternative thought, expressed freely.

What a loser, what a fraud, what a waste of space. And boy, does that mean that he has a lot to hide from or does that mean that he has a lot to hide from?

I wonder what’s cooking in the books?

Tony Blair, comon, hasn’t he been resigning for the last eons now it seems? Tony Blair is a worthless tool who has been aping the policies of Bush and his dirty tricks-terrorists are everywhere-spying-bombing etc. Thanks to Tony, while I’m packing for a trip next week, I must squash toiletries into tiny containers, and wonder why I still have to when the whole liquid bombing scheme never resulted in any convictions. He should be trying to hide his grave.

Poor Tony, he really does have it all backward. The MSM is dead, online is where everyone is now, as even Joe and Jane SixPack know that you can’t trust the propaganda machine in their living rooms.
