Arkansas GOP Head: We Need More ‘Attacks on American Soil’ So People Appreciate Bush

June 4th, 2007

Via: Rawstory:

In his first interview as the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done to protect the country.

“At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001],” Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, “and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country.”

Milligan, who was elected as the new chair of the Arkansas Republican Party just two weeks ago, also told the newspaper that he is “150 percent” behind Bush in the war in Iraq.

Crikey, I wonder if he smart enough to listen to his own nonsense …… In his acceptance speech on May 19th, Milligan told his fellow Republicans that it was “time for a rediscovery of our values and our common sense.” …. http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Arkansas_GOP_head_We_need_more_0603.html

A dumb question, I know, seeing as how what he says has answered with a resounding No.

  2. Larry Glick says:

This man Milligan is clearly a traitor and is willing to sacrifice American lives in order to perpetuate the myth that we must give up all our liberties to protect America. Milligan’s statements certainly feed into the “Conspiracy” theorists who believe that Bush and his cohorts knew about 9-11 beforehand and allowed it to happen in order to gain unprecedented powers.

To parse that statement, and delve deep into the logic therein, is going to give me a stroke. “If the bad guys kill a bunch of us, we the survivors will praise the president for keeping us safe.” Has our national leadership lost the ability of rational thought, or am I misunderstanding the above quote?

This is the nail on the head of what I keep having to remind friends & family of when discussing PO, American-made facism, and other tinfoil hat stuff.

Invariably the comment is made that “there’s no way that [insert topic here] could be a grand comspiracy being carried out by Them because if nothing else They couldn’t hide it from everyone”.

What I keep having to remind them of is that They aren’t even trying to hide it anymore…

  6. DrFix says:

Gawd! Would Mr. Milligan personally submit to a terrorist demonstration just to put that idiotic theory to the test? Hmmmm? Inquiring minds want to know.

This has to be one of the most counter-intuitive things I have ever heard. Surely if there were more attacks on US soil, then it would be obvious that Bush has done nothing to protect the country.

On the other hand, if you look at the actual quote, it appears as if he’s wishing for more bloodshed to get people to “rally around the flag” as they did after Sept-11.

  8. Colley Dog says:

The man is illogical not to mention plainly deluded – if Bush had been doing his “job” then attacks would not be possible as there would be systems in place to prevent them. Anyway, how can you prevent an inside job.

Hi Kevin, What do you think of Anthony Wile’s (founder of freemarketnews.com) assertion that the internet is exposing these games?

“The Internet, with its alternative reporting and blogging, has exposed the corruption of first Clinton and then Bush. It has served as a kind of “window into the soul” of the current power elite. Now the Internet is providing the citizens of the West, especially America, with a view of real republican, Ron Paul.”

the internet is an interesting thing imho. knowledge is power and all that. i wonder however at the potential for the web to be viewed as just another honeypot and time sink in of its self. armchair activism, etc. what’s the likelyhood that enough people will actually stand up from the computer? even reading something like this at best pushes a few buttons. it’s an illogical statement made in the vein of most ‘bushisms’. it’s mildly disturbing that the trend towards this type of communication is increasing, but given the high number of orwell references we have a satire level of 5. apparently, they just saved kennedy airport (from what? a grapefruiting?) that ‘would have been bigger than 9/11’. whoopee. nothing changes and it’s all on record for the revisionist historians later.

It will take more than another attack on U.S. soil, in fact you can pound dirt in the U.S. til whenever, but nothing will make me “appreciate” Bush. What kind of water is this ignoramus Milligan drinking?

There is certainly lots of sh*t flowing in the waters of the U.S. but there must be some special filter that allows certain crap to enter the waters that politicians that come from Arkansas drink.

First B.C., now H.C. and now this moron.
