Henry Kissinger said Hillary Clinton, a leading contender to be the Barack Obama’s Secretary of State, would be an “outstanding” appointment.
“She is a lady of great intelligence, demonstrated enormous determination and would be an outstanding appointment,” Kissinger, who served in the post from 1973 to 1977 under presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, told the World Economic Forum’s India Economic Summit in New Delhi today.
New York Senator Clinton appears to be President-elect Obama’s leading choice for the job, according to a Democrat familiar with the matter. Clinton, who lost to Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination, flew on Nov. 13 to Chicago, where the two met.
My best guess as to when the hardcore Obama fans will begin to wonder if they got what they paid for: not for a while. Most of them still think Bill Clinton, who signed the repeal of Glass Stengel, NAFTA, and media consolidation — among other “achievements — was a great president. He “felt our pain”, after all. These folks aren’t interested in a president’s record, just in how charismatic he is.
Evidently the new political strategy is to support charming, yet basically nieve & non-willful, candidates into office.
It worked with Bush twice, it’s working even better now with Obama, and by golly, isn’t that really ALL the American people seem to actually ask for?

——Today on CNN, a commentator was talking about the al Qaeda tape released today where the guy called Obama a ‘house negro’ or house servant, (i.e. al qaeda is leftist and reads Malcolm X) and he also said the tapes have mentioned Noam Chomsky. I can’t find a citation of what they might have quoted from him in a tape.
