Thousands Protest North Dakota Pipeline

Thousands of people have joined the Standing Rock Sioux Nation’s fight against construction of a contentious oil pipeline, a showdown Indigenous leaders in North Dakota warn won’t end anytime soon.
They’re opposed to the Dakota Access Pipeline, a multimillion-dollar project that’s supposed to transport light sweet crude oil from the Bakken oilfield near the Canadian border to Illinois.

Prior to the Vancover Olylmpics, the Canadian Federal Governemt poured millions into aboriginal programs in order to lessen the chances of aboriginal protests by “Idle No More” and others. However; the week after the Olympics spectacle was completed, all the previous promises of financial help to First Nations were cut and cancelled.
Today, the Canadian Federal Government requires consent from First Nations People to Okay the oil pipelines across their lands. Not surprisingly, Prime Minister Trudeau and half his caucus are saying “Sorry” for all past wrongs committed against the North American Indians and promising billions for these tribal communities. But, the very moment that the pipeline authority is passed in Parliament, the money flow will cease and all promises broken again.
Canadians must not forget the Oka protests in Quebec and where the army turned up and beat/shot protesters. And this was just a golf course.
There is a temporary halt to the Dakota pipeline simply because of the huge amount of protesters. The government does not have all their ducks in order yet. But, all hell is gonna break loose once all the Aboriginal leadership has been identified and all roads leading to the area have been placed under TSA control.

“In the end, there is no absence of irony: the integrity of what is sacred to Native Americans will be determined by the government that has been responsible for doing everything in its power to destroy Native American cultures.”
