In an unexpected ruling handed down today by Circuit Court Judge Allan Sharrett, the judge dismissed the government’s case against Brandon Raub, the Marine who was arrested by local police and FBI agents, detained in a psychiatric ward and forced to undergo psychological evaluations based solely on the controversial nature of lines from song lyrics, political messages and virtual card games which he posted to his private Facebook page. Judge Sharrett dismissed the petition for involuntary commitment on the grounds that the petition “is so devoid of any factual allegations that it could not be reasonably expected to give rise to a case or controversy.” Raub is expected to be released immediately.

In a hearing held at the hospital, government officials disregarded Raub’s explanation that the Facebook posts were being interpreted out of context, sentencing him up to 30 days’ further confinement in a VA psych ward.

OK…. so was he picked up before he could do whatever it was… or was the revolution bit the actual being picked up part? His plan to do something, or to exit something?
I scrolled through his wall to the beginning of the posts, which seems to be just before Sept 20, 2011. Here’s a few excerpts. I’m reordering them, so the oldest is on top, so you can read them chronologically.
Really, in reading them chronologically, I see what looks like someone who was skeptical about the government. That progressed into aggressive and very potentially dangerous. I’m surprised he didn’t try to do something very bad months ago. Something which would be quite accurately described as insane.
Below, I have only quoted him. None of the following statements are mine, nor by quoting them am I stating any agreement to them. I left out what appeared to be irrelevant. The link is in the story if any of you want to read them yourselves.

Here’s an interesting little update.
There’s another discussion elsewhere that I’m in on this same topic.
I went back to find something else that he had posted about a militia type group. Yesterday, when I pulled all those quotes, I was able to see back to Sept 2011.
Now I can only see back to July 2012. I don’t know if someone (friend or family) changed his posts so they weren’t public, or if Facebook removed them.
@ JWSmythe “very potentially dangerous” ??? How would you know? How “insane” is it to vent about one’s genuine oppressors?
