Via: Injustice Everywhere:

Once again it’s time for our annual “Worst Police Misconduct Videos of the Year” reader’s poll. Here we post some, but not all, of the over 80 videos associated with claims of police misconduct that we were able to present on our site in 2011. While some of the incidents tied to these videos did not occur in 2011, the videos for those reports weren’t released to the public until this year so they are included.

boys in blue wear that schutzstaffel black for good reasons.

American police are totally out of control. Their superiors are just as bad as are the politicians that control them. I see the Informed Juror (Jury Nullification) movement as the only hope. When these rogue cops discover that juries are not going to uphold their criminal charges, change may begin.

I’m not sure that there is any hope, but Jury Nullification would be an important part of it.

I was on jury duty a couple of years ago where the entire case was the word of a cop vs. that of a non-English speaking immigrant accused of drug dealing. During jury selection I was asked if I believed a police officer could lie. (it was presented as a serious question). I said of course they could, they’re human.

The prosecutor and defense attorney were clearly working together to railroad this man into life in prison. After my answer I watched as they counted the number of jurors before me and did everything they could to keep me off of the jury. I have no idea how it turned out, but I would guess that man will be spending the rest of his miserable life in prison.

The sad part is that in talking to the other potential jurors the only ones who get paid time off for jury duty are public (or quasi-public) employees. There isn’t much of a representation of the public at large. (I was the exception only because I wasn’t working). In fact I don’t personally know of any makers (or producers) who have ever served on jury duty. They leave that for the takers. Unless or until that changes I don’t see much hope at all.

Afraid that Jury Nullification is being nullified. I think THEY are selecting juries from law enforcement industry employees in order to produce favorable outcomes.
