Vatican Calls for ‘Global Public Authority’ and ‘Central World Bank’
October 24th, 2011Via: Reuters:
The Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a “global public authority” and a “central world bank” to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises.
The document from the Vatican’s Justice and Peace department should please the “Occupy Wall Street” demonstrators and similar movements around the world who have protested against the economic downturn.
“Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority,” was at times very specific, calling, for example, for taxation measures on financial transactions.
“The economic and financial crisis which the world is going through calls everyone, individuals and peoples, to examine in depth the principles and the cultural and moral values at the basis of social coexistence,” it said.
It condemned what it called “the idolatry of the market” as well as a “neo-liberal thinking” that it said looked exclusively at technical solutions to economic problems.
“In fact, the crisis has revealed behaviours like selfishness, collective greed and hoarding of goods on a great scale,” it said, adding that world economics needed an “ethic of solidarity” among rich and poor nations.
“If no solutions are found to the various forms of injustice, the negative effects that will follow on the social, political and economic level will be destined to create a climate of growing hostility and even violence, and ultimately undermine the very foundations of democratic institutions, even the ones considered most solid,” it said.
It called for the establishment of “a supranational authority” with worldwide scope and “universal jurisdiction” to guide economic policies and decisions.
Hey, when Ratzi AND Gorby are singing from the same hymnal it MUST surely be a melody, right?
Christ on crutches, do these world-ruling morons understand the world “scale”? Or even realize that so many of us do?
Forgiving my flagrant use of oversimplification here, the Scale Song goes something like this:
If your local bank fails, the effects are primarily local, right? If a national bank fails, the effects are largely national (aside from the post-Bretton Woods spectre of significant global investment portfolios, of course).
Therefore, doesn’t a GLOBAL financial authority suggest GLOBAL problems as a direct result?
Ironically, we’re ALREADY experiencing said global effects as a direct of the vampiric nature of multi-national financial institutions.
And these d**kheads want to roll up all that corruption together under one big system. Give me a f**king break, Gorby.
Better still, aside from the clear lessons of SCALE demonstrated in both nature and technology, it’s also become quite clear to every engineer, tech type and most rational individuals that distributed architectures tend to be FAR more stable by their very nature than centralized forms.
So, lets put all the power in one place says Ratzi and the marketing guys working for Team Vatican. That will fix everything.
The social programming scripts being put into play via media channels just don’t get any shallower than this.
But then it’s quite obvious that they’re not pumping out such noxious liquid mental waste out to convince me. No, these memetic payloads are MILIEU.
Basic operant conditioning on full display. Not to mention the bald-faced and blatant use of a prime strategy in the main PR playbook: third party endorsement.
You stack up enough of these “third party” comments that a global authority is the way to go and they collective create a pervasive sense of the rightness and inevitability of such a thing.
The cherry on the sundae here though are the comments about “hoarding” and “greed” coming from an organization like the Vatican.
Still one of (if not THE) largest single landholder in the Old World. Sitting on a huge stash of priceless assets, many of them rather questionably “appropriated” over the centuries. And who just happen to operate their very own multi-national bank.
Naturally, if you’re like me and you enjoy playing connect the dots geopolitically, you’re just another no good lousy conspiracy theorist.
Never mind that conspiracy is the single most useful and utilized political strategy employed in all of history, recorded and unrecorded.
Can I hear a WTF people?
Yep Miraculix,
You can hear one GDmd WTF from me. I don’t know how often I will repeat my diatribe on this website re tha Catholic Church. I have more to spare.
I just wanted to throw up in the waste basket when I read this. These holier than thou morons already all have most of the world starving to death because you “can’t be a true Catholic and practice birth control.” What a COS (crock of shit)!!!
We need a World Bank run by the Vatican as much as we needed all of these little boys and girls being, uh to put it politely, raped, tortured, and/or murdered.
All them poor Mohawk kids being the last shining example of how the Vatican treats children:

In the olden days when I was in therapy (out there stuff for my time Reich, Bioenergetics, blah, blah, blah), Your feelings about Money were related to your feelings about with Sex. And in my personal experience it is true. When I stopped thinking that sex was a “bad” thing I stopped thinking that money was bad too.
They both give us pleasure, do they not?
The Vatican has TOO MANY ISSUES about sex to be trusted with anyone’s soul, let alone their money.
If the fiery flames of hell the Catholic Church taught me to fear as a child really do exist, these “celibate” in the female sense but no OTHER, are going to have a very warm place awaiting them.
A world bank run by the Vatican? This is not the Onion?
I wonder if their is a God/dess that will actually forgive the Vatican for all the crimes against humanity their holier than thou, long dark robes have shielded?
I hope so. Because this last statement from the Vatican takes away my last vestige in the Catholic Church away from me.
A word bank run by the Vatican? Give me a break.
Sounds to me like the Vatican is asking for a license to lie, cheat, steal, rape, murder, and then bury the bodies all for what GOOD CAUSE?
PHHHHT.
Again, thanks for the props Eileen.
However, just as an FYI, you MIGHT want to read (and understand) the actual article before you avail us of your very special and oh-so-personal brand of Catholic love — yet again.
They’re just joining the chorus of evil bastards bleating that a World Central Bank will save the world from multi-national vultures, NOT calling for a Catholic Central Bank.
Sorry to burst your bubble.
