House Republican Fears False Flag Operation in Persian Gulf
January 14th, 2007Ron Paul stood on the floor of the House of Representatives and, in an open session, on the record, said, “A contrived Gulf of Tonkin-type incident may well occur to gain popular support for an attack on Iran.”
This is incredible, even by my standards. I watched this clip a few times, and I still don’t believe it.
That’s the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives! Where’s the media coverage of this? * sigh *

I heard he was running for President, I hope to God it is true. Finally a statesman instead of a politician.
It needs to be a nuclear incident to provide the “moral” pretext in the eys of the world for a nuclear strike on Iran. The best bet is, I personally suspect, a dirty bomb / small nuke in an American city, with global outrage ensuing and Iranian sponsored terrorists being pinned with the blame.
watching this, i really understand why the libertarians love Ron Paul… I just wish CSPAN panned out to show the faces of the dirtbag congressmen around him… if he wasn’t the only person in the room at the time.
I love Ron Paul. It’d take a miracle for him to become president, but I still like to wish/fantasize about such a thing.
Also… agree, the ‘incident’ is likely to be nuclear, but I doubt it will be on American soil. That’d paint the intelligence services and the tough on terrorism folks in a bad light. More likely I’d say on a base or a ship… perhaps even a whole carrier group. Does Halliburton make battleships?

I think the suitcase nuke on US soil with massive civilian casualties will be the most effective.. obviously they would round up a few Iranian guys as the fall men, they would claim that the men were “opearating under guidance of the Iranian gov’t” and then every Joe Simpleton USA would support a war/invasion of Iran. I think it’s the most likely scenario.
About Ron Paul.. yeah he’s one of the few people out there that deserves to be a politician. He was also in America Freedom to Fascism. I doubt he’d ever become President but yeah it’d be nice.
Well, let’s make it less than a miracle. We have but one life and it’s too damn short. Let’s stop fantacizing about Ron Paul being president and instead do what it takes to make it happen.
I read over at http://www.silverbearcafe.com/private/president.html that Ron Paul might run for president. He’s going to need 24/7 protection if he do. Honest, principled men have a very short life expectancy in the US.

Well, it’s nice to hear there are some sane people out there who aren’t afraid to face what’s going on and grow up.
