Via: BBC:

Egypt’s new military authorities say they are dissolving parliament and suspending the constitution.

In a statement on state TV, the higher military council said it would stay in power six months, or until elections.

Egypt’s current parliament is dominated by supporters of President Hosni Mubarak, who was ousted on Friday after 18 days of mass protests.

    hey Pookie and friends,
I’m not getting too excited about anything.
Just feel PLEASED that some people, any people, somewhere on this big blue marble, called Planet Earth, have somethikng to celebrate: albeit temporarily.
The Egyptian people, sending Mubarak off to a spa somewhere to lick his ego off while he swims in ill gotten gains off the backs of his people, and thanks to the largess of the U.S. taxpayer, is just one small step.
There is a much larger path to that I don’t know that the Egyptian people, their military, or anyone else knows will lead to. I can already hear the sound of the vacuum cleaner. HMM. Hilary is surely to be the last person you want to see in your Egyptian face. That is there all the time.
Wonderous control freak. No wonder she was “assigned” this position.
But I can tell you. I will be adding text messaging to my cell phone service and will be learning to text.
When the next revolution comes down here in the U.S. (an is past due)I want to be a part of it.
