TSA: No Body Cavity Searches

November 23rd, 2010

Oh, thank you, Master.

Via: U.S. News and World Report:

The flying public has won a small victory in the fight over airport pat downs and more intrusive searches with the Transportation Security Agency: For now, the agency isn’t planning to take the next step toward body cavity searches. “We’re not going to get in the business of body cavities, that’s not where we are,” says TSA Administrator John Pistole.

haha, yes, thanks for not sticking your finger up my ass!!! I know you really want to but thanks for your ‘restraint’…on another note, I have seen pics of people (men, mostly…) skinning down, in full view of the travelling public…I wonder how well it would go over if you went ‘commando’ and chose a strip search? No need for back-scatter or a grope?

Ha! The day the happens . . .

It’s far more likely that they’ll get rid of the pat-down option in the name of preventing liability for assault charges directed at them as well as the negative PR.

People have been conditioned to go through metal detectors for years, as well as have their luggage x-rayed. They’ll probably come out with a “safer” version of the back-scatter machine, or so we’ll be told, and then they’ll be no point to doing pat-downs.

Another part of me wonders if the mass media coverage of this is a psy-op to reduce flying and fuel consumption for some reason.
