Windpower to Supply Electricity to All of Britain’s Homes

December 10th, 2007

You won’t have the clean technology without a total, fascist lockdown. I’ve said it from the beginning, and I’m saying it now. The technology to build the techno green utopia has been around for easily thirty years. Sorry folks, that’s not how it went, and that’s not how it’s going to go. The primacy of new killing technologies and technologies of political control go hand in hand with the clean energy systems.”

Cryptogon: Forget the Green Technology – The Hot Money Is in Guns

Watch the shit for brains campus environmentalists and arm chair activists shed tears of praise and admiration for the maniac technofascist regime in Britain. As long as the diabolical police state is carbon neutral, it’ll be A-OK for those imbeciles.

Britain is to embark on a wind power revolution that will produce enough electricity to power every home in the country, ministers will reveal tomorrow.

The Independent on Sunday has learnt that, in an astonishing U-turn, the Secretary of State for Business, John Hutton, will announce that he is opening up the seas around Britain to wind farms in the biggest ever renewable energy initiative. Only weeks ago he was resisting a major expansion of renewable sources, on the grounds that it would interfere with plans to build new nuclear power stations.

The revelation rounds off an unprecedented week in the battle against global warming in Britain and the United States. On Wednesday and Thursday measures to boost US use of renewable energy for electricity and motor fuel and cut greenhouse gas emissions were approved in Congress. The move comes as 190 nations meet in Bali, Indonesia, to negotiate what is seen as the world’s “last chance” of avoiding the worst effects of climate change.

Yesterday hundreds of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in 86 countries across the globe to demand urgent action from the Bali meeting. Several thousand campaigners marched in torrential rain through London to rally at the US embassy. Some posters carried a picture of President George Bush and the words “Wanted for crimes against the planet”.

Mr Hutton’s announcement, which will be made at a conference in Berlin tomorrow, will identify sites in British waters for enough wind farms to produce 25 gigawatts (GW) of electricity by 2020, in addition to the 8GW already planned – enough to meet the needs of all the country’s homes.

It means that within only eight years, Britain’s offshore wind industry will be twice the size of that of any other nation in the world.

“Total fascist lockdown.” Come now. I understand that oversimplification is a conspiracy theorists’s stock in trade, but “total” “fascist” and “lockdown” are each all-inclusive words. Talk about hyperbole. The technology has been around for 30+ years, yes, but the economic imperative has not. Now the economic imperative is beginning to assert itself. But there is nothing to indicate political support of renewable energy will be any more egregious than support of carbon-based energy. Industrialism has been a sad, self-destructive accommodation of overpopulation for centuries now. Renewable energy is just another brick in the wall. What will be the ultimate political energy policy? Why, making do with less or without. “Why didn’t we think of this before?” (Socrates, 3020 AD). Those few campers who are still around can look forward to a couple of billion more years of digging roots and slurping insect soup till the sun blows up.

    Kevin,

I think I understand what you mean by “clean green fascism”, although your comments about how “obvious” it is are a bit off-putting. Let me make sure I understand your main points. Would it be correct to say:

    – the inertia of global trade is so great that it can only continue on its current path?

    – that even though history shows us examples of corporations pulling off a massive and rapid retooling, this is no longer possible?

    – that there would no be any profit (or sufficient profit) in sustainability?

    Just trying to understand…..

Total. Fascist. Lockdown. Hyperbole? Sometimes the foo shits. As Joseph Goebbels, that charming Nazi minister of propaganda put it in Der Angriff (1928), “We enter parliament in order to supply ourselves, in the arsenal of democracy, with its own weapons…. If democracy is so stupid as to give us free tickets and salaries for this bear’s work, that is its affair…. We do not come as friends, nor even as neutrals. We come as enemies. As the wolf bursts into the flock so we come.”

And then Marshall McLuhan elaborates: “The successor to politics will be propaganda. Propaganda, not in the sense of a message or ideology, but as the impact of the whole technology of the times.”

The way to control masses of useless eaters who are too rapidly consuming necessary resources is to convince them that their politically engineered “voluntary” green practices are for their own good and their own preservation. Or you can eliminate them in a bioweapon Die Off (got your free flu shots lately? soon to be mandatory). Or both.

The current clean green fascism seems to me to contain elements of the earth-hugging post WW3 religion that the elites will impose on what’s left of servile humanity after the kill-off.
