NASA: Future Strategic Issues: Detonate Seabed Methane to “Produce Tactical/Strategic Level Tidal Waves Against Littoral Regions”

August 11th, 2010

Here’s a 1999 New Zealand Herald article about the development of a tsunami bomb in the 1940s:

Top-secret wartime experiments were conducted off the coast of Auckland to perfect a tidal wave bomb, declassified files reveal.

An Auckland University professor seconded to the Army set off a series of underwater explosions triggering mini-tidal waves at Whangaparaoa in 1944 and 1945.

Professor Thomas Leech’s work was considered so significant that United States defence chiefs said that if the project had been completed before the end of the war it could have played a role as effective as that of the atom bomb.

Details of the tsunami bomb, known as Project Seal, are contained in 53-year-old documents released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Papers stamped “top secret” show the US and British military were eager for Seal to be developed in the post-war years too. They even considered sending Professor Leech to Bikini Atoll to view the US nuclear tests and see if they had any application to his work.

He did not make the visit, although a member of the US board of assessors of atomic tests, Dr Karl Compton, was sent to New Zealand.

“Dr Compton is impressed with Professor Leech’s deductions on the Seal project and is prepared to recommend to the Joint Chiefs of Staff that all technical data from the test relevant to the Seal project should be made available to the New Zealand Government for further study by Professor Leech,” said a July 1946 letter from Washington to Wellington.

It is unclear what happened to Project Seal once the final report was forwarded to Wellington Defence Headquarters late in the 1940s.

The bomb was never tested on a full scale, and Mr Kirton doubts that Aucklanders would have noticed the trials.

“Whether it could ever be resurrected … Under some circumstances I think it could be devastating.”

Now, the material below is from 2001.

Does anyone understand how the submerged methane hydrate deposits might be weaponized to produce a tsunami?

I clicked through the whole 113 pages or so and about puked on the rug. Of interest and shock to me where pages around 24 (demise of the underclass) and pages; 93, 101, and 103 eg. War on Internet.
What I’d like to know is why the fluck did NASA funding a presentation on WARFARE? I guess there is a rude awakening to my worldview everyday. I thought they were a benign organization. Yeah right. Guess who just fell off the turnip truck.
    Omigawd. This is horrifying.
I thought the Indonesian tsunami was caused by sonar drilling, because of all the dolphins and whales beaching before the tsunami.
    Hah.
I know something about methane hydrates from my hmm. Anyway, why I know about them isn’t important. I will have dig into my work memory. Can’t do that right now.
But I figure, if Matt Simmons knew there was a lot of methane gas down there in the Gulf and was blabbing about it, lots of people might start looking into it. I figure, if TPTB can’t wipe the people of Louisiana, Alabama,Missippi, Florida, off the face of the planet with this oil spill (you know reduction in welfare and Social Security payments and people who make a living fishing, shrimping, clamming, MY GOD WHAT A THREAT) well then. We’ll inject the Gulf with a big, bad blast of oxygen). Thank you.
That will get rid of these suckers that are NOT INTERESTED IN THE INTERNET, and as such, must be destroyed. They are gumming up the works towards world domination. Let the waters wash over them and lets be done with them. (Rothschild gleefully claps his hands together as the wave washes over all these uncontrollable scum that have not bought into his electronic domain control plan).
Honestly, I feel violated and betrayed. NASA. I guess I had them mixed up with Star Trek. My dumb.

My assumption is that it involves very precise time-delay explosions to amplify the shock waves. Like when you ‘double-bounce’ someone on a trampoline.

Supposedly N. Tesla experimented with the same physics, purportedly connecting a device to a load-bearing girder in his high-rise building which – using only tiny, intermittent vibrations – was able to amplify the waves to the point where they shook the building so violently he had to destroy the device to prevent a complete collapse.

Well don’t go looking for answers to methane hydrates re the Net. They are all now linked to the BP Gulf Rig Explosion.
If you know how to rig a search prior to BP – look for Methane Hydrates prior to 9/11/01. No kidding Dick Tracy.
The TPTB have looked into this as an energy source for a LONG time.
Good luck. I can’t do the research tonight.
Early bird these days and have to tame my night owl.

Maybe the hydrates are just used like an explosion, not a detonation. I suppose if some heavy bomb changes the condition where the hydrates residue, they will evaporate and generate an explosion. This naturally occurs when volcanic activities happen in areas with hydrates, I was told in class.

Methane hydrates catch on fire when they are warmed. There are lots of links to the Methane Hydrate Program at the U.S. Department of Energy Fossil Energy Home page.
Reading there today, the Gulf of Mexico appears to be one of the LARGEST stores of methane hydrate crystals.
Meanwhile, my sister (who does not know that I write all these weird things here and lives in Fla) told me the Gulf of Mexico’s waters are warmer now than they were before Hurricane Katrina. Hmm.
The Gulf Loop Current has stalled, the water is warming up (how much it has to warm up before the methane hydrate crystals are impacted I don’t know), and the HARP system operators seem to be focused on destroying Pakistan (one fifth of that country is under water )- what a joke. How many days after the Wikileaks release of info did Pakistan start experiencing these torrential storms. Hmm. Anyone know the last time Pakistan was flooded? Fer crying out loud. And now Julian Assange is a CIA prop? Roll of the eyes. Uh. I trust my gut. Yes, my gut has disapointed me before, but when Pakistan is being destroyed so soon after the Wikileaks, I have no doubts they are honest. IMHO.
I don’t know if I believe in the HARP, but there sure are some odd coinkeydinks going on. I hate to say this but, I hope the HARPEE’s keep their big weather machine off of the Gulf of Mexico.

Going out to look for falling stars. Perseid meteor shower tonight. Saw the Moon Cresent tonight. No wonder Muslims have made this time a religious event. So beautiful.
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day. Ghosts are visiting me tonignt. I’m going out to listen to what they have to say to me, wrapped in sheet against the mosquitoes.Mama Ghandi.
