South Carolina Now Requires ‘Subversives’ to Register, Pay Fee

February 6th, 2010

The Onion couldn’t have done it better than South Carolina.

Via: Raw Story:

Terrorists who want to overthrow the United States government must now register with South Carolina’s Secretary of State and declare their intentions — or face a $25,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison.

The state’s “Subversive Activities Registration Act,” passed last year and now officially on the books, states that “every member of a subversive organization, or an organization subject to foreign control, every foreign agent and every person who advocates, teaches, advises or practices the duty, necessity or propriety of controlling, conducting, seizing or overthrowing the government of the United States … shall register with the Secretary of State.”

There’s even a $5 filing fee.

By “subversive organization,” the law means “every corporation, society, association, camp, group, bund, political party, assembly, body or organization, composed of two or more persons, which directly or indirectly advocates, advises, teaches or practices the duty, necessity or propriety of controlling, conducting, seizing or overthrowing the government of the United States [or] of this State.”

apparently, in South Carolina, their grasp of English grammar is somewhat tenuous…LOL!

I suppose the lesson here is to rely on “Leaderless Resistance” and “Lone Wolf” strategies in order to aviod the 5 dollar filing fee.

In all honesty, this legislation is egregious and the very fact that it had to be passed indicates a high level of “concern” by the Powers That Be.

I wonder how they’ll spin this in reference to the Founding Fathers of the United States who not only advocated for the application of violence against an oppressive government but actually engaged in said violence. And then there was the U.S. Civil War, of which South Carolina played a large role…

Another question I have about this situation is this: Does a citizen qualify as a “political subdivision of the United States”? If so, the first time a cop uses violence against a citizen he’s just broken this law. Hmm…

    Except Israel.

A great false flag platform for later use by the media.

..one can be loyal to the united states of america, or to it’s government -but not both, as one is antithetical to the other…

On this sad but historic day, we of the South Carolina branch of the Brotherhood of Dedicated Overthrowers decided at a quorate meeting held in secret in Bob’s basement, that in the face of such overwhelming difficulties as presented by the State government, we would be forced to disband and retire rather than surrender to the monstrous filing charge atrocity. We each thanked the others for their years of dedicated opposition to government institutions, and several tears were shed. We will all now go quietly, back to our lives of 9 to 5 work, putting out the trash, and wargaming.
