Trump Media Stock Spikes After CEO Pens “Naked” Short Letter

Shares of Trump Media spiked on Friday after the company alerted the Nasdaq to ‘potential market manipulation’ from ‘naked’ short selling of its stock.
The warning came as the company, which trades under the symbol $DJT, offered shareholders detailed instructions on how to prevent someone from loaning out their shares to short sellers.
In a Friday morning letter to Nasdaq CEO Adrena Friedman, CEO Devin Nunes noted that as of Wednesday, “DJT appears on Nasdaq’s ‘Reg SHO threshold list,’ which is indicative of unlawful trading activity.”

In his letter, Nunes pointed to circumstantial evidence – including DJT being the most expensive stock to short in the US, which he said would give brokers “significant financial incentive to lend non-existent shares,” CNBC reports. The letter also links to a CNBC article which delves into the high premiums brokers were charging short sellers for loans of DJT to sell.
“I write to bring your attention to potential market manipulation of the stock of Trump Media & Technology Group Corp,” wrote Nunes. “As you know, ‘naked’ short selling — selling shares of a stock without first borrowing the shares of stock deemed difficult to locate — is generally illegal pursuant to Securities and Exchange Commission (‘SEC’) Regulation SHO,” the letter continues.
“Data made available to us indicate that just four market participants have been responsible for over 60% of the extraordinary volume of DJT shares traded: Citadel Securities, VIRTU Americas, G1 Execution Services, and Jane Street Capital,” Nunes said, adding: “In light of the foregoing, and Nasdaq’s obligation and commitment to protect the interests of retail investors, please advise what steps you can take to foster transparency and compliance by ensuring market makers are adhering to Reg SHO, requiring brokers to disclose their ’Net Short” positions, and preventing the lending of shares that do not exist.”

They continued for more than 15 years, involved hundreds of people, and infected most with hepatitis C and HIV.
One surviving patient told the BBC he was treated like a “guinea pig”.
Boston Dynamics: Atlas 2.0

Boston Dynamics has unveiled a new version of its Atlas humanoid robot, showing its creepy movements that make it look like something out of a sci-fi horror movie.
The Massachusetts-based robotics company shared a video of the latest humanoid, showing it pulling its leg behind its heads to stand up – in a way that the public said ‘looked like something out of The Exorcist.’
This new version boasts joints that let the machine bend and move in ways that the human body can’t – unlike the original, rigid Atlas that was famous for dancing and doing parkour.
The company also plans to sell the latest humanoid robot, but the price has yet to be disclosed, and it is set to begin its first job at Hyundai’s factories next year.

Widespread 911 Outages Hit Four States

At least four states experienced widespread 911 service outages on Wednesday evening, three of which were impacted by a disruption with a telecommunications company that provides 911 services.
Law enforcement agencies areas of Nebraska and Nevada announced that outages had occurred in multiple cities and counties, with multiple authorities in South Dakota reporting the issue as “statewide.” Multiple Texas cities also reported unrelated outages. Police departments in the affected states all reiterated similar issues that 911 calls appeared to be down on cellular carriers and in some areas, on landlines, but texts to the emergency number were still operational in many areas.
It was later revealed Nebraska, Nevada and South Dakota saw outages because a third party installed a light pole that disrupted the network of Lumen Technologies, which provides 911 communication services to the states. All services were restored within two-and-a-half hours, according to Mark Molzen, global issues direction for Lumen Technologies.

Gaza: Israel Attacked Palestinian Fertility Clinic

When an Israeli shell struck Gaza’s largest fertility clinic in December, the explosion blasted the lids off five liquid nitrogen tanks stored in a corner of the embryology unit.
As the ultra-cold liquid evaporated, the temperature inside the tanks rose, destroying more than 4,000 embryos plus 1,000 more specimens of sperm and unfertilized eggs stored at Gaza City’s Al Basma IVF centre.
The impact of that single explosion was far-reaching — an example of the unseen toll Israel’s six-and-a-half-month-old assault has had on the 2.3 million people of Gaza.
The embryos in those tanks were the last hope for hundreds of Palestinian couples facing infertility.
“We know deeply what these 5,000 lives, or potential lives, meant for the parents, either for the future or for the past,” said Bahaeldeen Ghalayini, 73, the Cambridge-trained obstetrician and gynaecologist who established the clinic in 1997.
At least half of the couples — those who can no longer produce sperm or eggs to make viable embryos — will not have another chance to get pregnant, he said.
