ISRAEL PREPARING TO INVADE LEBANON
September 25th, 2024Here we go again…
Via: Daily Mail:
Israel’s army chief has told his forces to prepare for a ground invasion of Lebanon as the Middle East spirals towards a seemingly inevitable wider war.
Herzi Halevi told soldiers during a drill near the Lebanese border in northern Israel: ‘We are attacking all day, both to prepare the ground for the possibility of your entry [into Lebanon], but also to continue striking Hezbollah.’
He added: ‘Hezbollah today expanded its [range] of fire. Later today, it will receive a very strong response. Prepare yourselves.’
An army chief told Israeli soldiers that strikes are paving the way for an impending ground invasion, adding ‘your boots… will enter enemy territory’.
‘You hear the jets overhead; we have been striking all day,’ General Herzi Halevi told troops on the border, according to a statement from the military.
The army said it was calling up ‘two reserve brigades for operational missions in the northern arena’, adding: ‘This will enable the continuation of combat against the Hezbollah terrorist organisation.’
Flashback: Whatever is coming, it’s not going to be contained to Israel.

Britain Preparing to Evacuate Up To 10,000 Citizens from Lebanon as Israeli Attacks Continue
September 24th, 2024Via: Daily Mail:
The Ministry of Defence is drawing up a mass evacuation plan to help rescue up to 10,000 Brits stranded in Lebanon as hostilities escalate between Israel and Hezbollah.
British troops are expected to be deployed to nearby Cyprus to help those waiting to support British citizens trapped amid fears a regional war could soon break out.
Those already stationed in Lebanon could also be drawn in to help evacuate Brits should the burgeoning conflict continue to escalate, The Times reports.
Thousands of people have been displaced by relentless bombing over the last few days, with nearly 560 people killed and thousands wounded in the crossfire.
Israel said yesterday it was prepared to invade Lebanon if needed – as its allies and regional powers urged restraint, citing the deaths of scores of civilians already.
Israeli Airstrikes in Lebanon Kill Hundreds as Tens of Thousands Flee

Israel’s military said it launched airstrikes against Hezbollah sites in Lebanon on Monday, which Lebanese authorities said had killed 492 people and sent tens of thousands fleeing for safety in the country’s deadliest day in decades.
After some of the heaviest cross-border exchanges of fire since hostilities flared in October, Israel warned people in Lebanon to evacuate areas where it said the armed movement was storing weapons.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a short video statement addressed to the Lebanese people.
“Israel’s war is not with you, it’s with Hezbollah. For too long Hezbollah has been using you as human shields,” he said.
Families from south Lebanon loaded cars, vans and trucks with belongings and people, sometimes multiple generations in one vehicle. As bombs rained down, children crammed onto parents’ laps and suitcases were tied to car roofs.

A day after looting in Philadelphia resulted in just over 60 arrests and damage at stores in multiple neighborhoods, a few more stores were damaged in looting incidents Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Philadelphia police say there were eight looting incidents reported overnight. That number includes a Fine Wine and Good Spirits liquor store in Lawndale and a beauty supply store in Mayfair. A nightclub near the liquor store in Lawndale was also damaged. The owner said windows were broken but nothing was taken.
Police say five of the looting incidents were in the Northeast Police Division, two were in the Northwest Police Division and one was in the East Police Division. Six arrests have been reported.
At Nat’s Beauty Supply in Mayfair, surveillance video showed a group of people, mostly women, breaking through the glass front door and taking items including hair extensions, weaves and wigs.
One of the women was wielding a tire iron.
California Fast Food Chains Replacing Employees with Robots
September 23rd, 2024Via: Daily Mail:
Chipotle has introduced two robots that can take over tasks normally done by its workers.
The ‘autocado’ can peel, stone and cut an avocado for guacamole in 26 seconds. Meanwhile, a ‘digital makeline’ portions up salads and bowls based on orders on the app.
The machines are part of an automation drive that Chipotle bosses hope will cut down the number of workers needed – slashing rising labor costs.
So, it is no surprise they are being put to use first in two of the Mexican chain’s restaurants in California, the company announced on Monday.
Recent legislation raised the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20-an-hour in the state.
