Ask the Carter Administration for their records of US arms and munitions provided to “Bin Laden and company” to fight the Russians in their occupation of Afghanistan. The thinking of the Carter Admin was that the US wanted to give Russia their own personal version of the US in Vietnam.
Yep, the wars in Afghanistan crushed Russia’s spirit and economy. Just like the US wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and lord knows where else we are to “protect and defend” will end up leaving our soldiers overseas with no dollars to bring them home (worst case scenario).
I for one think its time to regroup, withdraw, and rethink the US military presence in the world.
We could resusitate the US economy and create a new economy just by putting energy behind healing all of the soldiers, sailors, cooks, and deck washers recalled to home.
Bring them home NOW.
